October is a shoulder season, summer is well and truly gone and winter hasn’t quite struck yet. This doesn’t mean that there isn’t a lot to see and do during this time.
Hikes: It is one of the most beautiful times for hikes, the valleys have an array of different colors. From green to yellow and orange, it’s the most colorful time for hikes in Banff and Canmore. We highly recommend checking out the Larch Valley near Lake Louise.
Drives: Cruise along the Bow Valley Parkway (Highway 1A) or the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93) for breathtaking vistas. There are multiple different viewpoints on these drives so that you can have a quick pit stop to take in the stunning views.
